SPR# KTAI4D39VL - Databases once part of a domain index will automatically be removed when the option "Include in multi database indexing" is turned off. This problem has been fixed on all platforms, except HP.
Technote Number: 1093628

Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been addressed in
Domino 5.0.5 via the following SPR's:
Excerpts from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 5.0.5 QMR fix list:
SPR# PMGL462RER - Domain Indexer now correctly removes deleted database
information from Catalog.
SPR# PMGL4HNJ5S - Fixed the Catalog task so that it automatically gives 'Author
with Delete' privileges to 'LocalDomainServers' in the Domain Catalog's ACL.
This will improve the propagation of database deletions from the Database
Catalogs to the Domain Catalogs.
Also fixed in 5.0.8 (except for the HP/UNIX platform) via SPR # KTAI4D39VL:
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 5.0.8 MR fix list (available at
http://www.notes.net):
SPR# KTAI4D39VL - Databases once part of a domain index will automatically be
removed when the option "Include in multi database indexing" is turned off.
This problem has been fixed on all platforms, except HP.
The issue was still found to occur in Domino 5.0.8 on HP/UNIX, which was
reported via SPR #BASO4XWHCX. However, there are currently no plans to address
it in the R5 code stream.
To work around the issue in R5, recreate the Domain index by following these
steps:
1. Remove the database(s) from the Domain index by deselecting "Include in
multi-database indexing".
2. Shut down the server.
3. Delete the Domain Index, ftdomain.di, from the operating system.
4. Restart the server.
5. "Load catalog" to update the CATALOG.NSF. Confirm that "Include in
multi-database indexing" is set to No in the Database tab of database(s) entry.
6. "Load domidx" to create a new Domain Index.
NOTE: Deletion and re-creation of a Domain Index is often not feasible in
practice because it typically takes hours, or sometimes days, to recreate. In
Domino 6 it is possible to work around the issue with the following steps:
1. Turn off the "Include in multi-database indexing" flag on the database
(open the database, and use File > Database > Properties > Design tab).
2. Run the catalog task, either immediately or on schedule.
3. Run the Domain Index task, either on schedule as it is set up in the Server
document, Server Tasks/Domain Indexer tab, or manually and immediately by
issuing the server console commands "tell domidx q" followed by "load domidx
-s".
